What we use and why

Bora Towing Ltd. uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how people use boratowing.com so we can improve it. For example, it shows us which pages are visited, how visitors found us, and whether visitors tap to call, text or email us, tap a "Book a Tow" button, or successfully send one of our forms.

What Google Analytics collects

• The pages you view, their titles and the website or ad that brought you here.
• Your device type, browser, screen size and language.
• Your approximate location (such as city or region), which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
• Whether you tapped a phone, text, email or "Book a Tow" link, and which part of the page it was in.
• That a booking, contact message or business account application was sent successfully, and its type.

We never send Google the information you type into our forms: no names, phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, vehicle details, licence plates, VINs or business credit information. We do not use Google Analytics to identify you.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_MLDZZY18D2, which tell visits apart and can last up to two years. Google processes this information on its servers, which may be in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We keep visitor-level and event-level Google Analytics data for 2 months; after that, only aggregated reports remain.

No advertising profiles or remarketing

Our website tells Google not to use information from your visit for ad personalization or remarketing, and it does not collect Google signals data. This applies to Google Analytics and to the Google Ads tag on our advertising landing page. We do not use what Google Analytics collects to show you ads.

Google Analytics is linked to our Google Ads account so we can see which of our ads lead to calls, texts and bookings.

Google Ads measurement

Our Google Ads landing page (boratowing.com/tow-truck-edmonton) also uses Google Ads conversion tracking to count when a visitor who arrived from one of our ads taps to call or text us. Google may set cookies for this purpose.

Visitors outside Canada and in Quebec

If Google locates you in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Quebec, Google Analytics and Google Ads on our site do not set cookies or use your data for advertising. Google may still receive limited information that isn't linked to a cookie, such as the page visited.

Your choices

• Install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use private browsing.
• Manage how Google personalizes ads for you in My Ad Center.

Opting out does not affect your ability to use our website, request a tow or contact us.
