Being a tow truck operator takes guts — when everyone else is off the road, you are there to help the stuck, stranded, and deserted. Tow Truck Operators are both helpers and entrepreneurs, supplied with calls through dispatch when help is needed and given the opportunity to find work on your own when phones are not busy.
We are looking to recruit experienced 1 Ton & Flatbed Tow Truck Operators to join our growing Bora Towing team in Edmonton.
Responsibilities
- Respond to dispatch calls for towing, recovery, and roadside assistance across Edmonton and area
- Operate 1-ton and flatbed tow trucks safely and professionally at all times
- Ensure vehicles are loaded and secured properly to prevent any damage during transport
- Provide outstanding customer service — you are often the first friendly face people see in a stressful situation
- Complete required paperwork and documentation for each service call accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized truck at all times
- Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and customers
- Follow all Alberta traffic laws and company safety protocols on every call
Requirements
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (minimum) — clean driving record required
- Previous towing, flatbed, or related truck driving experience strongly preferred
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
- Physically able to perform the duties of a tow truck operator (lifting, securing vehicles)
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Strong customer service skills and professional attitude
- Good knowledge of Edmonton roads and surrounding areas
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented work ethic
Assets (Not Required)
- Alberta Class 3 or higher driver's licence
- First Aid / CPR certification
- Previous experience in the towing or automotive industry
- Knowledge of vehicle types and basic mechanical troubleshooting

As a dispatcher, you are the critical link between our customers in need and our drivers on the road. You'll be the calm, organized voice that coordinates everything from incoming calls to truck assignments — ensuring every job runs smoothly and every customer gets help fast.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls from customers in need of towing and roadside assistance
- Effectively communicate with customers and tow truck operators to ensure work is on schedule and well organized
- Dispatch tow truck operators efficiently, assigning an available truck based on location and service requirements
- Ensure tow truck operators have proper instructions to perform their duties in a timely and safe manner
- Listen to tow truck operators' concerns and act on them accordingly
- Monitor GPS tracking system to track truck locations and job status in real time
- Perform all related clerical duties including invoicing, record-keeping, and daily logs
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and follow-ups professionally and promptly
- Coordinate with insurance companies and collision centres when required
Requirements
- Superior organizational skills — ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective and creative problem solver who stays calm under pressure
- Good keyboard skills & computer literate (dispatching software, GPS systems, basic MS Office)
- Excellent customer service skills — friendly, professional, and empathetic on every call
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy
- Superior time management and multi-tasking ability
- Good knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding area roads
- Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends
Assets (Definite Advantage)
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Previous dispatching experience in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of the towing industry
- Experience with GPS and fleet tracking software
- Bilingual (English + any other language spoken in Edmonton)
